Dear Friends of Monergism:
Major Upgrade!: There has been some major construction going on at Monergism.com this past month. By the grace of God, we have always worked hard to bring you the most God-honoring content available. We daily create and aggregate new content from around the web which we pray will be edifying to you. But also important to us is that the website be user-friendly and easy to navigate. With this in mind, we just added two new functions we think will make your user-experience on Monergism.com a whole lot better.
Here are two major upgrades that we want you to be aware of:
1) Search Upgrade: We debugged, streamlined and optimized the search function for more accurate results. The main, most noticeable, improvement you will immediately notice is the ability to do precise searches for Scripture texts. So, for example, if you type Romans 3 or 2 Corinthians 5 in the search, the results will bring up all the resources we have under those specific passages. Give it a try.
Then after you do the search for your scripture passage, if there are too many results, look to filters on the left of the results, especially "Filter by author(s)/speaker(s):" If you want to see the results only for a specific author/speaker you can click their name in the filter and only those results will appear. For example, if you did a search for 2 Corinthians 5 you get about 140 results. But then when you look at the "Filter by Author" you select Martyn-Lloyd-Jones (7) and all seven resources on 2 Cor 5 by Lloyd-Jones will appear.
Likewise using search if you want to find a commentary on a specific book you can search for, say, Genesis, THEN on the right side under "Filter by topic(s):" you will see one of the filters is called "Commentaries". Select it and you will see 26 commentary results we have on Genesis.
2) Menu Upgrade: On the right side of every page on the website you will NOW find a new menu which enables you to navigate the site 1) by topic, 2) by Scripture 3) by Author and 4) Latest Links (open by default) So now when you come to the website all the newest links and blog posts will be available on the homepage (as well as from every page on the site). If you click on "By Topic" all of the first level topics will drop down for your easy selection. We think you will find this function incredibly useful for your studies.
For those of you who don't want the menu bar there is a "close quicklinks" button which will hide it.
Go to the site and give it a try. Your screen resolution will need to be at least 1280x1024 to see the menu. Most computers now have at least this resolution by default.
May the Lord continue to richly bless you and your family
