Patience
"The Bible's command to think of other people's interests above our own, to give up our rights for others, to be patient with others and to serve others in daily things is difficult, to say the least. It is not natural for anyone to live this way, whether we are mature or not. We are all weak and incapable of of such selflessness since we all naturally love ourselves. It is a matter of complete dependence on God then ... the leading of the Holy Spirit .. or none of us have any hope of living for others. I despair when faced with Christ's ethic of love. But that, I believe, is the point. When we find we have no resources in ourselves, we then seek Christ in all earnestness."

"So, if God is not on site, delivering what we want when we want it, our confidence in Him flags, and we tend to give our hearts to something else. One of the hardest things for sinners to do is wait."
- Paul Tripp
