Grace Harbor Counseling Ministries
Philosophy Statement
As Christians we realize people, who at times, are in crisis and/or in deep periods of despair or situational difficulties, need extended personal counseling. We recognize that these periods of time require in-depth analysis and teaching that are used in conjunction with the other ministries of the local church. Christian counseling, therefore, is not an event but a process. In addition, it is not plenary in its function, but a component of the overall discipleship ministry of the church.
We desire to use the gifts of Christian counseling and counselor training as a support ministry for local churches in order to fulfill Paul’s statement in Romans 15:14 and Colossians 1:28. We believe that Christian counseling is a component of the sanctification process. We also believe all Christians have degrees of giftedness wherewith they can perform Christian counseling. Our ministry, as a counseling support arm of the local church, comes alongside the counselee or the counseling Christian in an effort to develop these degrees of giftedness.
Regarding our training, Grace Harbor Counseling Ministries has nuanced their training programs to accommodate a cross-sector of fellow Christians who desire to learn how to counsel and are committed to the local church. Our goal is to train Christians so they can provide biblically-based solutions to real world problems and that they may present every person mature in Christ.
