Isaiah Saldivar is a well-known preacher, online influencer, and self-proclaimed evangelist who focuses heavily on supernatural ministry, particularly in areas such as deliverance, spiritual warfare, and the casting out of demons. Based in California, Saldivar has gained a significant following through his YouTube channel, social media presence, and speaking engagements, where he frequently discusses topics related to demons, spiritual manifestations, and what he calls “radical Christianity.” Despite his popularity, Isaiah Saldivar’s teachings are deeply problematic, as they distort the gospel, emphasize unbiblical practices, and promote doctrines that are inconsistent with Scripture. For these reasons, Saldivar is a false teacher who should be avoided.
1. An Unbiblical Obsession with Demons and Deliverance
One of the most troubling aspects of Isaiah Saldivar's ministry is his extreme focus on deliverance and the demonic. While the Bible does affirm the reality of spiritual warfare (Ephesians 6:12) and acknowledges the existence of demons, Saldivar's teachings and practices go far beyond what Scripture prescribes, often leading to an unhealthy and unbiblical obsession with demons. He frequently claims that Christians can be possessed or oppressed by demons and insists that believers must undergo deliverance rituals to be free from demonic influence.
However, the Bible teaches that those who are in Christ have been set free from the power of sin and Satan (Colossians 1:13). Believers are indwelt by the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:19) and cannot be possessed by demons, as they belong fully to God. While Christians may face spiritual attacks or temptations, Scripture does not teach that they need to seek deliverance rituals to be freed from demonic influence. James 4:7 instructs believers to “resist the devil, and he will flee from you,” emphasizing a posture of faith, repentance, and trust in Christ rather than an overemphasis on deliverance ministries.
By teaching that Christians must constantly focus on demons, strongholds, and deliverance, Saldivar shifts the attention away from Christ’s finished work on the cross and the power of the gospel, leading people to trust in rituals and methods rather than in Christ alone.
2. A Distorted View of the Gospel
Isaiah Saldivar’s emphasis on deliverance and spiritual warfare often leads to a distortion of the true gospel message. Instead of preaching salvation by grace alone through faith alone in Christ alone, Saldivar’s ministry tends to focus on the need for believers to experience supernatural manifestations, engage in deliverance rituals, and achieve a certain level of “radical” spirituality to truly follow Christ.
The Bible, however, is clear that the gospel is not about seeking supernatural experiences or achieving personal spiritual power. The gospel message is that all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23), and that salvation is a gift of God’s grace through faith in Jesus Christ (Ephesians 2:8-9). It is not based on our ability to perform deliverance rituals, experience supernatural phenomena, or maintain a certain level of spiritual intensity. Paul emphasized that he was “determined to know nothing among [the Corinthians] except Jesus Christ and him crucified” (1 Corinthians 2:2), underscoring that the heart of the gospel is Christ’s atoning sacrifice and resurrection.
By shifting the focus away from the centrality of Christ’s finished work and toward deliverance practices, Saldivar promotes a false gospel that relies on human effort and experience rather than on the sufficiency of Christ’s redemptive work.
3. Extra-Biblical Practices and Teachings
Isaiah Saldivar frequently engages in practices that have no biblical foundation, such as modern “deliverance sessions” that involve elaborate rituals, chanting, and techniques that are more reminiscent of charismatic mysticism than New Testament Christianity. His teachings often imply that deliverance is a form of spiritual empowerment that can be obtained or performed by anyone who learns the correct methods or techniques, regardless of whether these practices are grounded in Scripture.
The Bible warns against adding to or taking away from God’s Word (Deuteronomy 4:2; Revelation 22:18-19), and believers are instructed to “not go beyond what is written” (1 Corinthians 4:6). The apostles never taught or modeled the kind of elaborate deliverance rituals that Saldivar promotes. Instead, they focused on preaching the gospel, making disciples, and pointing people to Christ. Any teaching or practice that goes beyond what the Bible prescribes should be rejected as false and dangerous.
4. Lack of Biblical Discernment and Accountability
Saldivar’s ministry operates without the kind of accountability or oversight that Scripture prescribes for those in positions of spiritual leadership. The New Testament consistently emphasizes the importance of biblical qualifications for leaders (1 Timothy 3:1-7; Titus 1:5-9), which include being "above reproach," "able to teach," and committed to sound doctrine. However, Saldivar’s teachings often reflect a lack of biblical depth, sound doctrine, and theological accuracy, and he appears to operate independently without submitting to the authority of a local church or eldership.
The Bible warns against false teachers who “secretly bring in destructive heresies” (2 Peter 2:1) and encourages believers to test all things against Scripture (Acts 17:11; 1 John 4:1). Saldivar’s lack of accountability and his promotion of unbiblical practices should serve as a warning sign that his teachings are not aligned with the truth of God’s Word.
Conclusion: Why Isaiah Saldivar Should Be Avoided
Isaiah Saldivar is a false teacher because his teachings distort the gospel, emphasize unbiblical practices, and lead people into an unhealthy focus on demons and deliverance rather than on Christ and His redemptive work. The apostle Paul warned that “even if we or an angel from heaven should preach to you a gospel contrary to the one we preached to you, let him be accursed” (Galatians 1:8). Saldivar’s teachings lead believers away from the simple, saving message of the gospel and into a spirituality that is centered on experiences, rituals, and self-effort.
The Bible calls believers to "contend for the faith that was once for all delivered to the saints" (Jude 1:3) and to avoid those who "cause divisions and create obstacles contrary to the doctrine that you have been taught" (Romans 16:17). Isaiah Saldivar’s emphasis on deliverance, spiritual warfare, and supernatural experiences is contrary to the sound doctrine taught in Scripture, making him a dangerous influence within the body of Christ.
For these reasons, it is crucial to avoid Isaiah Saldivar’s teachings and instead remain rooted in the truth of God's Word, which provides everything we need for life and godliness (2 Peter 1:3). The true gospel offers salvation, freedom, and transformation through the finished work of Jesus Christ, not through human effort, rituals, or deliverance practices. As believers, we must fix our eyes on Christ, who is the “author and perfecter of our faith” (Hebrews 12:2), and reject any teaching that seeks to add to or distract from the sufficiency of His work on our behalf.
